Bruneau Sand Dunes

I decided it would be fun to take you to the Sand Dunes. I haven't been since I was a kid so I figured it would be nice to check it out. Your Dad wanted to see the observatory. So we decided to go in the evening so we could do both at the same time.

We stopped at Westside Drive In on the way out. Where we shared an 'ummy' shake. We got to the dunes at the perfect time. We were able to climb up the soft sand while the sun was up and the sand was cool. We got some beautiful pictures (Jake and Jessica went with us) and you loved playing in the sand. We slid down the side of the dune together. As we climbed back up I literally had to carry you. To which you prodded me by saying "c'mon Mommy, lets go!" As of it to tell me I was moving way too slow. We all laughed. When you and I got back up to the top of the dune you gave me a hug and said "that was fun!" Oh the moments I live for right now.

The observatory part was fun but a little challenging. They had an hour long presentation before looking at the telescopes. You weren't much for sitting of course so we walked around outside while we waited for this part. At the end we got to look through a handful of different telescopes pointing to Jupiter, Saturn, a galaxy, and Venus. I can't tell if you really saw anything in them. It didn't seem like it. Then we went into the large telescope observatory and saw Saturn through it. It was pretty spectacular. The only bad part about the trip was the fact that we didn't know there would be so many mosquitoes. We swatted them away as they swarmed our face and skin until we finally managed to get some repellent from the observatory. We left at just the right time, a large wind storm kicked up right as we rushed back to the car.

A River Walk

We got to go on a hike today. You are ready to go camping for sure. As we were walking you were picking up sticks along the way and then saying "wait mommy, I coming!" when you fell behind.

One bad thing happened, you were throwing rocks in the water and were trying to scare Bailey. Unfortunately at one point you threw a large rock and it landed right on Bailey's back. Poor thing. Fortunately I think she is okay. Needless to say, we have to watch the rock throwing when Bailey is in the water. But gosh you are mighty cute. Look at that sweetness in the hat carrying that pile of sticks!

A Trip to the Zoo with Aunt Megan

Aunt Megan and I took you to the zoo. It was perfect weather and we went at the end of the day so there were virtually no crowds.

So Happy its Spring Time

Spring time means hikes. It was beautiful out tonight and so I rushed home determined to take you and Bailey out. We went to Eagle Island for the first time. It was so peaceful, no one was there. Just us and it was perfect.

Monkeying Around

Just playing with the camera and taking pictures together.

So Funny...

This scene made your Dad and I laugh. You woke up and went downstairs on your own. Once I realized this and went to look for you, I found this scene. You have never had fun dip before in your life but somehow you found it in a bowl (that is usually up on the fridge but was on the counter) and opened up the fun dip. You told me it was 'ummy' and despite having never had or seeing fun dip before, you still knew exactly what the purpose of the stick was and how to use it.

Grandpa's Airplane

Grandpa bought an airplane last year. You got to go on it once already with Dad, but I haven't gotten to go. So we finally had our chance. Grandpa had to take the airplane between Caldwell and Nampa for an inspection so we tagged along. Unfortunately Grandpa didn't know what hangar to take the plane to so we ended up driving around the Caldwell airport for almost an hour. You were so good and so patient in the car. I was very proud of you, even though the suspense was killing you to go to the plane, you made it. This delay turned out to be a good thing though because it was dumping rain and we weren't going to be able to go up anyway. By the time we finally got to the plane the sky had cleared and we had a beautiful flight.

You were very quiet on the plane as if you were taking everything in. I must admit it is much different being in a plane like this where you can really distinguish the ground to flying in a commercial plane at 10,000 feet. I think you realized the awe and beauty in this and were taking it all in.

Below are a few of the pictures. You are quite intrigued with umbrellas as of the moment and spent the time after the flight opening and closing the umbrella. You were quite proud of yourself.
