A few more pictures...

I bought you an exersaucer yesterday at the recommendation of my friend Annie. It has already been a great investment. You like it a lot because you can stand upright in it which is a good thing for your reflux. You also are pretty into the toys on it and study them very carefully at times.

Today you fell asleep sitting next to me. It was so cute we had to get a picture. I did get out of the pic but we love your little belly rolls in it!

The Saturday Market

One of the things that I have been looking forward to with you ever since I got pregnant last summer was going to the Saturday Market with you and carrying you around in the baby bjorn. This weekend I finally got the chance to do just that. Dad and I took you down to the market to walk around and meet up with his friend Tony and also your Nana. It was a little chilly but not too bad, so we bundled you up and off we went downtown. You did great; we put you in the baby bjorn and you slept in the carrier for the first hour or so as we walked around. You also gave me the opportunity to get some exercise since carrying around your little 15 lb and some amount of ounces body is actually pretty heavy! The last photo shows just how worn out you and Dad were... this was how I found you when I came home an hour after we got back from the market. It was priceless.

More Pictures to Remember You...

Below are some of the pictures that I have taken of you during the month of April where you were two months old.

Below is a wonderful picture of your sweet little smile I love so much.

You were just so sweet sleeping here that I couldn't resist taking a picture.

These next two are to help us remember how bald you were compared to when you were born and had tons of hair! You have been told you look like your Great Uncle Dave, a Friar, and that you have male pattern baldness or a cul-de-sac on your head. All in complete affection, I assure you so don't develop a complex!

Another irresistibly sweet picture of you bundled up and sleeping.

This picture was taken on Earth Day when it was seriously almost 90 degrees out and we went out in the sun and needed a hat for you. The only one we had was your Greenbay hat that your Great Grandma Bev in Wisconsin got you, so we put it on you despite it being a little too big, but you looked so cute in it!

Sickness, Showers, and Laughs All in One Week

You are wrapping up your 11th week of life. My my how you are growing! This week you got your first cold. You started getting sick on Monday and it just progressed each day. You have been congested in your chest for the past few weeks but it hadn't progressed to anything beyond that. Now the congestion lent itself to a runny and stuffy nose. You then proceeded to develop a cough. I started giving you showers in the morning and evening to help clear you up. I stayed home with you on Wednesday so that you didn't have to go to daycare since you were getting progressively worse. Fortunately, your cold didn't develop into anything serious. Although you still have the runny nose and congestion, you seem to be feeling okay and I hope you kick it this week.

Despite your cold all week you were in really good spirits for the most part. The main time that you could tell that you were sick was when it was time for you to go to sleep or after first waking up. During one of your bouts of fussiness from being sick, I surprisingly got to hear your first laugh. Tuesday Jessica was watching you and I had come home to feed you. As I was getting ready to head out the door and go back to work, you started crying as she was getting ready to change your diaper - something that is very uncommon for you. So I walked over to your changing table to try and cheer you up. Your face lit up when it saw me and I started to tickle and play with you. You smiled and did your usual cooing that you do when I play with you during diaper time. This time though, you actually let out a few shrieks followed by a short laugh. It was the most delightful sound I have heard in a long time and Jessica and I laughed at hearing yours. This promptly took you aback and you got very serious very fast then turned back to cooing again. Your laughter was sweet music to my ears and I have been trying to get you to do it again ever since, but as of yet no such luck!

This weekend was still fairly busy despite us all getting over being sick (yes you got your Dad and I sick of course). Yesterday we went over to our friends house for a surprise birthday party. You were the life of the party as usual! You were perfectly behaved and were passed around from person to person. There were a lot of people there that hadn't met you yet and were anxious to see you. Then today the weather was beautiful! It was our first day of 90 degree weather for the year. So we packed you up and went out for an Earth Day festival at one of the local nurseries. The festival was complete with music, food, and beer for your Dad. Jake, Jessica, and your Nana went with us. Boy was it hot! But you rocked some jean shorts and your Greenbay Packers hat that your Great Grandma Bev in Wisconsin got you. You slept through most of the festival in the Baby Bjorn. After the festival, we headed over to Solid to eat dinner on the patio with Jake and Jessica. The weather was perfect on the patio in the shade and you enjoyed being outside. I have to go back to work full time tomorrow... I'm not excited about that. I would love to continue working part time to be at home with you, but right now that isn't a reality. I can't believe you are going to be three months next week!

Your First Easter

Well Easter was fairly low key this year since you are only two months old and thus have no idea what Easter is. However, that didn't stop the Easter Bunny from showering you with gifts.

We went out to brunch with your Nana and Grandpopper to La Vie en Rose.

After brunch we headed home and took a nap. I love the pic below of us snuggled up with Bailey asleep.

After nap time we headed over to Grandma and Grandpa's for a visit. Grandpa was working, but you got to spend time with Grandma and Great Grandma Casey as we ate pie for a mid afternoon snack.

Since we didn't get a good family picture during the day, we ended up taking a family self portrait when we got home.

After we got home you were in a playful mood. You played on your play mat which you currently love when you see yourself in the mirror. Later on I dressed you down to your diaper and you played with your new ball that you got for Easter. It is perfect since it has little holes for you to grip on to with your hands. One of the gifts you got for Easter was 'big kid' Legos. Your Dad was so excited about the space ship legos that he and Jake put it together. Apparently this present was more for you Dad right now than you!

Your Easter basket came with bunny ears, and although we didn't get a picture on Easter day, we didn't neglect getting one later in the week. You look absolutely adorable in them! Although it was low key, your first Easter was nice and I am so looking forward to next year where you will be able to toddle around and pick up eggs.

I Love You - A Week Of 'Sleep' Moments

I'm sitting here typing this as you lay in my arms asleep. A wave of sheer love and affection just washed over me as I looked down at your sweet sleeping face. You are already growing up way too fast. You are 10 weeks old right now.

This week you slept for 6 hours for the first time. I didn't know how to react! I woke up three times during that 6 hour period wondering why you weren't waking up. It was wonderful to be able to look over at you sleeping in the bassinet and be able to go back to sleep though. You also picked the perfect night to do this for the first time since I had a horrible headache on this night and was also feeling very nauseous. So thank you my dear boy for thinking of your mom.

The next night I was once again overflowing with love for you. At about 3 am you woke up to eat and as I started to lay you down in the bassinet after your feeding you woke up and looked up at me and gave me the biggest ear to ear grin. Then you closed your eyes again for a few seconds as if you were going to go back to sleep then you opened them again. You looked up at me one more time and grinned again, as if to say 'hi mom! Just checking to make sure you were still there!" It's moments like these that make me love being your mom.

On yet a different day I came home from work and you were so happy to see me. Jessica had been watching you and you were just sitting on the couch and the second I walked up to you I got another big ear to ear grin because you were so happy to see me home.

I have one more week with you where I don't have to work every day and I am going to cherish every last moment of it. Today we took a bath together. I plan on taking a nap with you, going on a walk outside, and spending time with your Dad and us as a little family. I love you Marcus.

Amateur Family Pictures

We went and took pictures of Jake and Jessica for their engagement photos and in the process we decided that we should take some family pictures. So I had Jake and Jessica take some photos of us. We are going to try and get some more formal family photos and pics of you for your 3 month mark.

A Picture Post

I'm falling behind on posting all of the wonderful pictures I have taken of you during your '2 month' window. So here are a bunch of them. You are getting chubbier and cuter by the day!

These are your pajamas that Dad and I bought for you when you were a newborn that don't fit anymore. This is pic of the last time you wore them. We bought them because they were sort of BSU-ish with their blue and orange scarves on the penguins and polar bears.

This is one of your big boy outfits!

Your Nana Pari bought this cute robe for you. You finally were happy enough one day after bath time to get some pics in it. Although you love bath and shower time, you usually hate getting out and being put into the cold air, so it has been hard to get pics of you in this!

These are my new favorite pictures of you. Your eyes look absolutely adorable in these pics.

My sweet sleeping boy

You slowly getting used to the Bumbo. This picture really shows how much you've grown! You are chilling on your own and holding your ball that you got for Easter. What a big boy!

Marcus on Play Mat -2 Months Video

You recently right around two months old started to enjoy laying on your play mat to get exercise. You kick your legs and wiggle around while you stare at the toys. You also love to see yourself in the mirror and get very excited when you do see yourself. It is very cute and a constant reminder to your mom at how fast you are growing up.
