You have been doing a better job at sleeping at night. Although you still wake up at night, I am trying to wean you off of eating at night as well as us putting you back to sleep. Last night though was one for the books. You had your 6 month doctor's appointment yesterday (more on this later) and so you got your shots. As a result you slept for a LONG time last night. You went to bed at 8 and then didn't wake up until almost 5. Needless to say, I knew you were hungry since you had gone almost 9 hours without eating. So, I decided to nurse you.
As I sat in the rocking chair nursing you I realized I needed to cherish the moment because these moments are rapidly coming to a close. Before I know it your night feedings and wakings will be all over. The song "It Won't Be Like This For Long" by Darius Rucker came into my head. I sat and looked at your sweet face while you nursed and then stopped feeding. You were sleeping and were cooing ever so softly. I sat smiling at you and staring loving into your face soaking up the moment.
Then reality hit...
You proceeded to puke all over me. On my face (luckily my mouth was closed), in my hair, and all over my nursing bra. You looked up at me for a split second, then closed your eyes and nuzzled back up on my shoulder and went to sleep. As I sat there I couldn't do anything but just smile and laugh to myself. I sat there and rocked you for a bit before deciding to put you to bed and clean up. This son, will be a moment I won't likely forget.
